The issue of costs and spa heating is that we often hear from our customers. "How much is really my heat bath spa or hot?"
The answer depends on several factors, in which one lives, the cost of your electricity, the size of the radiator, which power your heater is working, etc.
Here are two examples:
Example 1
Let us assume the following;
• They live in Southern California.
• The cost of electricity15cents/kwh
• a heating element 1500W, 120 Volts.
• Do you have a spa, 3 years (a spa with excellent insulation qualities)
• To receive the heat in the spa, it is necessary to heat 3 hours per day (average)
• The heat pump 1hp, 120v.
The method of calculating heating costs is as follows
The cost for the current warming:
KWh cost of electricity in the number of hours radiator size xxper day x days per month = cost
0.15 cents / kWh x 1500watts = 1.5 kW x 3 hours = X30 days $ 20.25 per month
The cost of the pump;
0.15 cents / kWh 736watts x =. 736kw x 3 hours x 30 days = $ 9.93
Total heating costs in Example 1 = $ 20.25 + $ 9.93 = $ 30.18
Example 2
Let us assume the following;
• They live in upstate New York.
• The cost of electricity 20cents/kwh
• a heating element 5500W, 240-volt power have
• Yeshave a spa, 10 years (poorly insulated)
• To receive the heat in the spa, it is necessary to heat 4 hours per day (average)
• The heat pump is 0.5hp, 120v
The cost for the current warming:
KWh cost of electricity in number size of the radiator xx hours per day x days per month = cost
0.20 cents / kWh x 5500watts = 5.5kw X30 X 4 hours = $ 132 / month
The cost of the pump;
0.25 cents / kWh 736watts x =. 736kw / 2 = 4 hours 0.368wxx 30 days = $ 8.8

In the above example shows that heating costs vary greatly depending on the factors mentioned above.
If you are a new spa in the purchase process, please look for the following to minimize heating costs
